I’ve been neglectful

I’ve been neglecting this blog a bit this past month, however I’ve been pretty involved getting a new venture up and running, which I’m quite excited about! I recently purchased a Cricut (electronic cutting machine) to use in my card making, and found out about software called Make the Cut! that essentially lets you design your own images to cut on the Cricut. I tried it out, promptly bought it, and decided very shortly thereafter to become an affiliate and resell the software. I’ve started a new blog called cre8ive cutz where I am selling the software, offering a free trial download, and also have video tutorials and of course, some free files and projects, like the one shown below. If you are a paper crafter, feel free to pop over and check it out!

Digital Scrapbooking Class in Calgary

I just finished teaching an introductory digital scrapbooking class in Calgary, and thoroughly enjoyed it! We created three pages during the class, which ran over two weeks, and by the end of the class, everyone was getting really creative and having fun with their pages. These are the pages I designed as the starting point for the students.

New Layout

Seems like I hardly ever get time to just scrapbook anymore, but I finally managed to get this page finished up tonight, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. The photos are of myself and my two sisters, taken a couple months ago during a scrapbooking weekend in Banff. The layout uses Page in a Pinch 46 and Time for Family Mini Kit.

A new tutorial for the new year

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I decided to take a little time off to relax so you haven’t heard too much from me lately, but I also did some computer upgrading during that time, including lots of new memory (fabulous!) an upgrade to Window 7 (working good so far) and upgrading my Photoshop Elements to version 8.

I decided to start off the new year with a new tutorial; this one shows you how to quickly add a border to your photos. You can make the border white to look like the border the photo labs put on your photos, or a color to look like your photo is matted on colored cardstock.
